so i wasn't recording in the 80s, and as a consequence i'm not particularly up on midi. but i do have some midi gear, and several pieces that don't have a midi thru port. i'm trying to hook up several pieces at once to control from my daw, which only has one midi out. so my question is this: is there some kind of cheap splitter that can take one midi signal and pass it through several different cables? i've tried searching for something like this on ebay, but i don't even know what to call it. thanks much! |

if you only need to split the OUTPUT to multiple devices, you can go with a cheap "midi thru" box... different types are available that offer 1-in/4-out configurations, etc.. If you want to have multiple devices sending midi IN to you DAW, you want to look for either a midi patchbay, or a better MIDI interface for your DAW that supports multiple inputs... |

Look on ebay for a JL cooper MSB +. Very handy device and it will also merge midi.
