Behringer Edison spatial

Is the Behringer Edison the same as the waves stereo widener plugin. I hear a lot of pro studios are using this beringer edison unit. Is it being used for the final mix to make it wider or for tracking individual parts in stereo
thanks

No its not the same but similar.

I am a user of the Behringer Edison(i own 2 of them).

To be honest i've never seen them in any pro studios...come to think of it i've never seen anything Behringer either.

I would never advocate using Spatialization to make a mix"wider" or tracking in stereo.

I prefer to use it as a temporary effect.

If your mixes aren't wide enough, i would suggest you look elsewhere for a solution.

Hi everybody i'm new here,i just saw the forum and it looked very interesting....

i think if i were to compare the edison with any waves plugs it would be the ps22 split, spread and xsplit.....

the waves imager i more like an over extended panner,Not a great thing to put on an overall mix....

the ps22 stuff is frequency based so it is great for touching up mono sources....

sorry about my bland registration
