| Echo Audiofire 4 driver installation/upgrade problem Hi guys, I love my Audiofire 4, but I have a constant problem when upgrading (as well as original installation of) the drivers. The process invariably hangs up when the install window gets to "installing DPinst.exe /sw /sf /something or other" When I say hang up - I mean REALLY hang up....up to 5 hours of letting it just sit there and stew. This has happened every single time I've tried to upgrade the drivers. Sometimes I'm successful by uninstalling the AF4, juryrigging the driver (i.e. expanding the .exe and then just randomly double-clicking stuff), etc. - but trying to do the 4.8 drivers has completely hung up with no success. I don't understand how driver installation and update could be so tough....it seems so pedantic. Any help? I've written Echo about the problem - but no response as yet. Thanks, Jay |
