Apogee updates Duet Software

Apogee have just released a software update for the Duet. Here's what the update resolves according to the Apogee site:

New Features - Apogee Maestro Software
• Euphonix EuCon compatibility - it’s now possible to control several Maestro parameters such as input controls,
output levels and mixer settings from EuCon-compatible hardware.
Resolved Issues
• Kernel panic issues resolved with the Apple firewire audio driver v.242-4-7
• Implemented a work-around to avoid a jump in Output level when opening Steinberg audio applications
• Infrequent crashing of Pop-ups or connected audio apps
• Mouse motion preference corrected for Output control

You need to log-in to access the update.

Just note the Duet update is a 2 stage update if you have Leopard. You have to update the software, re-start, and then run the firewire driver update software that's included in the download, and re-start again.

Out of interest, I have just tried running the Duet as an Aggregate Device with my Mackie Onyx 1620/firewire. Previously this would not work - after 20secs or so noise and gliotches would appear. However, since applying the update, the Duet now appears to be working nicely as an Aggregate Device. no noise glitches creeping in..... I'll need to test it for a bit longer, but this seems promising!

UPDATE - no, unfortunately it appears Duet stills does not want to play as an Aggregate Device, same noise stills creeps in....shame that.

Indeed, that is a shame.

Anyone think this will be able to be fixed with software updates alone in the future?

Apogee - get on this paleease?!
