| NICE SONG feedback needed hello you all. how are you? i recorded last week musicians in a church. and i need some feedack about the mix. some info about the recording 1st of all the mics were to close so u will not hear the room of church(!?) guitar recorded with XY km184 vocal with brauner phantom classic drunk violin ribbon aea r92 when i tried to mix the song , i found out the vocals were all in the KM184 recording. so i used the lead recording with brauner as adlib, otherwise the vocals are way too loud in the masterfader i used bleuverb of nomad to put some reverb inthere. recording was way too dry. and i used flux. all feedback is welcome. i can handle it, so pls shoot at the mistakes. thank you and greetings zebraaa |

| hey, im only giving it a quick listen on my rather poor headphones, but it sounds okay.. some feedback though: the violin sounds bit bowy to me (if you know what i mean?), and the vocals didnt seem present enough, sounds like theyre at the back rather than the front to me.. |

| The 3 parts are entirely in their own acoustic spaces, not integrated at all. That violin is just drenched in reverb, and it's just vastly different than on the vocals and guitar. Also, they're all competing for the same space in the stereo field. You need some stereo spread so they don't step on each other so much. You should be able to work these issues. The tone is really good on the vocals and guitar. I wouldn't EQ a thing. It's hard to say about the violin because of the reverb. I would take the guitar and spread it out wide in the field, since it's providing backing. I'd put vocals up front, slightly to the right, and I'd stick the violin in the back and to the left. Use one stereo aux for reverb for all 3 instruments, and use a much shorter reverb. Your tail has got to be 10 seconds long on that thing. Send more violin to it to put it behind the vocals, but not nearly as much as you have. Get the spread right dry, and then add just barely enough ambience to thicken it up.

| I too am listening through headphones (@ work). I like the vocals, they have great dimension. What was your mic pre? The guitar seemed to get a little too dynamic, prehaps some compression/limmiting might tame it a little. I like the picking. The vilon needs to just be a lower in volume; it steps over the guitar at times. Overall, it is a cool cover.

| wow, very interesting ideas, 1st thing tomorow when i hit my little crib. as i said the vocals and guitar are in the xy km184. lukely as you said the vocals and guitar sound nice. ( im even trying to fix recording mistakes) the violin player was drunk and i asked him to play near the MIC, but this geeser kept moving up and down doing his performance.because of that i got the reverb from the church all over the place. so i gonna leave that problem. still a lot of alternatives you guys gave me. im very curious how it gonna go. tnx a lot and tomorow afternoon ill try to hit you guys up with that new mix. thanx a lot greetings zebraaa |

| better version defenetly i mixed to your feedback and came out with way better results. with the reverb im still a bit not finnished, i dont know where i going....i think. still it sounds nice to me. dispite the 1st 3words of the singer sound lower in voice and dont come out. but for a jamrecording i feel comfortable. hit me if you like, i still got some bandage over here, so i can take it. greetings Peter and tnx for the help out here |
