Echo Product W/ Standalone ADAT Mode?

I just used a buddies setup to record with an Echo Audiofire12 and was blown away by the converters, especially for the price point.

By far the best sounding conversion for this price.

I am wondering if any of their products have standalone ADAT modes so as to be compatable with the ADAT input on my Digi 003.

i've mailed them about this.
they recommend that you buy a layla 3g.

i can't seem to get it through their
dam heads that my lap top wont take a pci card.
(they seem to insinuate that it has a stand alone mode of some type)

******s, i think that they are missing a big revenue stream here.

I emailed Echo today and got a response back a few hours later as I was looking for at least 8 i/o and adat with good convertors and preamps.

It seems they come out with a preamp at the end of the summer/start of the autumn (8 preamp version of the echo audiofire 8 with adat) so it might be possible to use it as a preamp adat convertor.

I have the same problem. Getting tired with my firestudio which has crappy drivers. I mailed Echo as I noticed that it is possible to let them design a custom interface for you. So I asked for 8 preamps, 4 other analog line ins, 12 outputs and adat (much like a modded audiofire 12) but they replied that there will be a newer version of the audiofire8 with preamps and adat (which will run at 48khz so I guess no SMUX support)

I was told to watch the homepage in late summer. My first experience with echo is very good to say. Very quick response (mailed them around 1 midnight, got a reply back at 5 in the morning) and very friendly and open. I love that!

Yeah with Echo the quality of conversion has always impressed the shit out of me. I don't usually use any built in preamps of any interface if I don't have to so I can't comment there.

I think the new product might give Echo a huge boost. I emailed them as well and explained that if they made their boxes with a standalone ADAT mode or what not they would be an option for a lot more users.
