Exclamation First test with new Rode NT5's!

I received a new pair of Rode NT-5's today (well yesterday at work, but I got them home today) and I tried out some little recording with them (one at the same time).

instrument:
Crafter GAE-36 ( http://www.gitaar-nederland.nl/gitaa...er-gae36-n.jpg )

Rode NT-5-->Cordial cable with Neutrik plugs--->M-Audio DMP-3--->FMR Audio RNC--->Yamaha AW2400 recorder.

When I played the track back (some basic rhythm strumming with the chords of Judas Priest's "Beyond the Realms of Death"), I looked down to my hands to make sure I wasn't still playing!
I mean... it sounded THAT realistic!
Sure it helped that it was the only track being played back, but still...
usually a recording sounds... recorded. This sounded 'live'.

I'm happy with them, I can tell ya that much.

Hey Speedy, they are good mics. We did an 11 mic SDC shootout last night and the NT5 were in the upper middle of the pack for both drums and acoustic. However, if you could hear an Oktava MK-012 on ac gtr I think you might have an epiphany in Jerkoffski!

Hey Warren, the thing is, I got a new set for the price of 1!
Oktava's are hard(er) to come by in Europe, at least affordable...

My next set of SD condensers (in a few years) might be something along the lines of Josephon, Earthworks, DPA or Neumann...
