Yeah. I actually meant that the money finally got drawn from my bank account a few days after paying with Paypal. The refund is still not in my Paypal account, which I've been checking for the last few days. Paypal still has the money.

And probably making interest off all our money while they have it - the whole deal with the clearing time is they get to make a few days interest off our funds - a common banking practice apparently.
Mine has not shown up either.
Give it a week or so and it should be back I guess.
on PayPal.

Hi Chance

Am I correct in assuming that the payment deadline has been extended until a new payment system has been put in place? Just want to make sure that I don't miss out.

And can I just say thanks for setting this all up. I'm sure that I speak for a lot of people when I say that yours and Randy's efforts are greatly appreciated

Was GS down this morning? I was on eternal hold with Ppal for over an hour this morning but couldn't get to GS while I waited. A person on the forum (who for obvious reasons will remain nameless) is the brother or cousin of the president of E-bay north America. He put me in touch with him yesterday. Hopefully things will get resolved today. They are holding our funds captive. I could understand for security reasons them not funding me, but they have no good reason not returning your funds.
On another note, I am still working on shipping outside the USA. There is fierce compitition between USPS, and fedup(s) My last communication with USPS is that they will beat the compitition cost.
On ANOTHER note I am working on group buys for xfrmrs from Edcor, Lundahl, Carnhil, Cinimag, and Oliver Archut. Lindahl would want an "exclusive" to get a big price break. This would mean if it was discovered that I was also doing a GB with other Xfrmrs manufacturers, it would breach the agreement and void our discounts.
Oliver has already made some xfrmrs for our ACM-6802 and it made a drastic improvment.
We are working on an alternative to PP with a MUCH lower fee.

USPS parcels, once over the cdn border, is transferred to CanPost, and any outstanding fees are paid at delivery time. This might be a bit tough for one person to carry all these fees, and sort out the different orders/charges - esp. if there are multiple recipients.

In any case, you are correct we have loads of time to sort this out - drop me a PM...

I'd like to hop on this train as well, once everything gets straightened out.

Patience. There's probably about 500 people PMing or e-mailing them at this point while they are trying to fix the PP issue and set up an alternative payment gateway. I expect they will get back to you in due course.

Are you their attorney? I'm looking for a response from Chance or Randy, not anybody else... (don't care for any more comments about patience from the peanut gallery, either).

Not formally, although we've had some off line discussions. I was in the last GB and I'm in this GB as well. No need to get grumpy about it.

I suggest that if you have an issue with your payment, you contact PAYPAL. They are the ones who have the money, who are holding the money, and who are responsible for returning the money. End of story.

Actually, this is true. It sounds like Chance & Randy are working on a better payment option, anyway. Lets try to be a little patient while he gets things set up.

Chance, this is getting WAY ahead, let's finish this buy first.
But, just a thought... as i know you/your tech designed some for this buy, what if we had submittals for mic or pre..comp..whatever designs that we all vote on... for the next buy... of course assuming this all works out, which i assume it will. It's mostly the dropping $ that scares me!
thanks!

Thats an excellent idea. This manufacturer is HUNGERY for new products. To make sure things don't later get rebranded, there would have to be a minimum of 1000 pieces made to have an "exclusive" Here is the latest from P-pal

As a point of interest, I was listening to MPR (Minnesota Public Radio) yesterday and they were discussing current economic trends in China and how they have been affected by the economic malaise in the US. They quoted the manager/owner of Shuaiyin Electronics (a major Chinese microphone manufacturer) as saying that business cratered by 40% in the last quarter of 2007. If other Chinese gear manufacturers are having the same experience, this is a good time to be exploring GBs with them. They need the business and should be willing to work with us to do deals.

Regarding the letter Chance posted above, I think it's necessary that I reveal my recent involvement in this problem. First, I have no money tied up in this because I hadn't yet paid my invoice so sticking my nose in wasn't self-motivated.

Obviously, I've been following this problem as we all have and I was hoping it would resolve itself quickly. When it was apparent that it wouldn't, I sent a message to Chance offering to assist and, with his thanks and approval, I emailed a cousin of mine who is a very upper level executive at ebay explaining the problem and asking if he could assist in getting it cleared up. I sent the email late in the afternoon on Tuesday and yesterday I received a phone call from Andrea (the one who sent the letter to Chance) who told me that she'd been contacted by my cousin and would be handling this problem.

I am revealing this now because I think it would work against Chance's best interests and the interests of those who have their money tied up, if people started filling Andrea's email box with letters of complaint. She is going to expedite the handling of this issue and it will get resolved quicker than if it had gone through normal channels. So please don't sabotage our chances of a fast resolution just to let off a little steam.

Jim

Group Buy Sabatoge !!!!!
I was just notified with the name and E-dress of the person who threw the wrench in the spokes. His reason to PP was that he did not get a reciept. I won't post his name, but I relayed that he has made MANY PEOPLE UPSET. To that person: YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN YOUR REFUND A LONG TIME AGO IF YOU WOULD HAVE ASKED! Your intentions are OBVIOUS now. You tied up your own money too! The funds have been returned. I hope you are satified. Oh,, and thank you for choosing to participate with us.

On another note A BIG thanks for all the support and words of encouragment from everyone here.

on the A-hole hung up on a silly receipt (doesn't Paypal give you a receipt automatically anyway???).

Here's an idea for new products to explore with the Chinese manufacturers: 500 series powered racks and modules. Just clone those API EQ's and preamps. That would surely stir up things for the U.S. manufacturers and create some healthy competition.

Tube designs would be fun: a Pultec clone would be cool. Those are simple enough circuits.

With an alternate payment system being offered in the future will you re-open registration and take more orders? Coming late to this thread and I'm interested in finding out more, possibly jumping on board.

- no grumpiness here, bro. I know you were just trying to be helpful. But in this case, it was off the mark. I was looking for an answer to a very specific question that is moot now because I received my refund. I also had a pertinent suggestion.

RE suggestions for future products:

How about a straightforward tube pre with a transformer, a la The Brick (which I have and like).

Also, I'd love a very small but high quality tube mixer. I'd think that would be perfect for home and project studios......
