ONE MORE DAY! (I thought it would never come) Over the weekend I will be totaling up everything, then submitting it to the manufacturer. I expect to have the invoice (from the manufacturer) by mid-week. Then the funds get transfered. Once that is complete, they build and we wait. I'll keep everyone posted on the progress. I might even ask them for some digipix that I can post.
I'll be board-hoping today and tomorrow to answer any last minute questions.

Hey Chance,

I remember you saying you had some exciting news to announce about some new products in the works. When are you going to make those announcements? I'm dying for you to tell us that a 500 series rack and modules are planned.

- sorry about my jerky previous comments. I went back to edit them out, and I'd already been quoted.

- no excuse, but I have very limited windows of opportunity to deal with this, with the work I've got going right now.

Chance/Randy:

I received 2 payment confirmations with 2 different numbers:

Order Number : 200851422555200
Order Number : 200851419161000

- if I have actually paid twice, please cancel or refund one payment. I sent e-mail about this late last night, and resent it a little while ago - but no response.

Thanks!

(if everybody but Chance or Randy would refrain from commenting on this, I'd really appreciate it)

I recall a hello kitty mockup posted on HR, but that may have been taken off the table at this point.

I thought there was a link in the user control panel, but it's not there now. Maybe someone could post the link or the jpegs?

Example - I buy something from Economik in Quebec - they cannot charge me PST, nor can Ontario charge me as it was bought OUT OF PROVINCE. I still however, pay 5% GST, which is the national taxation for good and services...

However, when going thru Cdn customs, they reserve the right to charge PST (RST) when purchasing from ANYWHERE, which is ludicrous.

Trust me, I do not mind paying GST, as I charge it, and pay it as a small business owner/operator, but - there is a difference between 5% and a total of 13%!!!

Just makes me want to NOT purchase out of country, but order from Quebec/Alberta to avoid the extra 8% tithe for just living in this smog-infested province (you can tell I'm both pissed, and can't wait to re-locate after our tenure here...)

Sorry for the somewhat OT - tho taxation (and shipping) is going to be a big part of foreign 'group-buy' participants, so - headzup!

Yeah, I hear you.

You say you remember when it was only gst at the border. When was the first time they hit you with both?

So group by item's are sold at no profit?

I'm not sure how all group buy's work. My experience with them has been that a retailer or manufacturer agree's to give a group of people a discount for ordering in bulk.

This sound's like a much different set-up with product being spec'd for a one time shipment?

Just a thought I'd like to throw out here regarding credit card security and something that most people don't ever think about:

Some people don't feel "secure" by submitting their payment details on a non-SSL web site, and I am one of them, but at the same time, we'll walk into a store and swipe our cards, and all of that information is sent across the phone lines (just like the internet) UNENCRYPTED! If you use a debit card, and you enter your PIN number, that part is encrypted by the pinpad itself, but none of the other information is... beingmf, mentioned sending by fax... that also, IS NOT encrypted... anyone can receive these transmissions by a simple phone tap...

I didn't get a chance to call the manufacturer yesterday due to answering the many last minute E-mails and PM's. I did, however, send them a quick E-mail. Here is their response:

"Mr Chance
How are you reciently? You are fine. I sent your colour sample to our engineering division. Our earthquake was good. Many much far from us. We are happy. I will contact you tomorrow about colour."

LOL that was a word for word quote

Keep watching the boards. I will be posting the progress as it happens. They will give me a shipping date and let me know if the ship is an "express" or "local" The last GB had a ship time from China to LA in 14 days. The GB before that was 30 days.

Only this last purchase (API 512c from dudley100 in Idaho) - all others - like 40-50 of them - NO RST...

I called customs and revenue canada to call them on it - they said there is a provision in the customs act to collect RST - even on used electronics...

Bollocks I say !!!

I know..I was being completely unhelpful with my response.
I figured if you knew what I was referring to, you'd just roll your eyes.

No final on the colour yet.

Here's a link to the original colour page too.

Something that I want to mention that might clear up some confusion:

If you try to pay, and you KNOW that all the info that you entered IS CORRECT, and you still get a DECLINED error, this is a security measure set by your card's issuer... You'll have to call the phone number on the back of the card and approve the transaction before it will take it...

I've had several people contact me with this problem, and so far, this has been the solution...

Thanks in advance,

Randy

Group Buy Payment

Hi All:
Well, finally, tonight, was the end of the group buy payment... and all appeared to have gone very smoothly...

I want to remind everyone that paid, PLEASE log into the User Console and make sure that you are marked as PAID. If you paid, and are not marked as so, please send an email to GBPaymentProblems@n344rb.com with the information of the transaction that you should have received in an email receipt after you paid.
Again, PLEASE, everyone that paid, PLEASE log into the User Console and make sure that you are marked as PAID.

Thanks in advance,
Randy
