I returned mine for this very reason. The product was never fully developed. Unless you monitor through software, you will only hear left or right mono when direct monitoring. Crazy huh?

Also you will notice a low hum when you use the wall wart in the base station.

It is also to be noted, you cannot monitor this unit without ad/da conversion happening. Look at signal flow in the manual.

It's a real shame, the price was great and preamps superb.

so how do i get to hear both headphones through my DAW?? I dont mind monitoring through my DAW because the latency i get is really low. Anything i play through my DAW only goes to the left headphone. Ive turned on monitoring in my DAW which i believe im suppose to do to hear both headphones but still just get the left.....this is frustrating!!!

Did you select DAW in the control room section of the Satellite? Should work fine after selecting DAW.

You get stereo if you don't plug your headphones all the way in. Or go all the way in and then back out one click.

There is an update on the Mackie site for real hardware monitoring.

Good luck

More precisely, you get the mono in each speaker/can. Works when recording mono in both channels too.

Mackie Onyx Satellite Conflict with Sonar

I have a basic sound card on my computer (Diamond 7.1/24) and when I try to mix tracksI transfer over from my LR-16 Stand alone Hard Disk Recorder I get a lot of drop outs and Jitter. I can listed to the individual files on the PC and they are fine. It's basically a sound card issue. So I tried to use the Mackie Onyx Satellite and it said there was a conflict. Does anyone know if the onyx only works with certain software or computer packages? I have a PC Running XP and Sonar. Also if I plan on only doing mixing on my DAW do I need to get a better Soundcard? Any help is much appreciated.
