Thread Starter | Vortex question Been digging on this cool piece today but there's a reference in the Lexicon Vortex manual about chaining effects, it's the one thing in the manual I can't understand. Anyone know what this feature is eactly and how you do it?

| Vortex "chaining effects" Page 22-24 of the manual. Basically, you clear register pairs from the User Area of the memory and make effects that you want to use, in the order you want to use them. You can then increment through the chain of effects. It's not like lining up +DSP effects on a Metric Halo box, but Vortex still OWNS the effects morphing world. I feel lucky to own one of these weird and commercially unsuccessful boxes. If you haven't bought/built all of the switches/pedals, do so. Pedal morph control is the way. Find for under $200 on ebay. I'd pay $500 for a MIDI Vortex with balanced I/O and s/p-dif, but there is no such thing. Cheers.

Thread Starter | Thanks guys. So the chaining just let's you set up a sequence of pairs of sounds from one user slot to the next, for ease of use in a live set. Yes very cool unit, infinite variety. I'm using an EV-5 foor pedal for the morphing. Does anyone know a foot pedal that gives you a smoother, longer travel for this purpose? - I find it a little hard to control the transition from sound A to sound B slow enough for my taste, could just be the pedal is so light with little resistance |
