| Gear nut | Hi Heartfelt: Yes, that was my gearslut deal of 2007. I don't think that price will come along at a GC until they discontinue the BM5As for their next version (the MKII). But, last Memorial Day was still the old "we will make deals GC" - not the new "the price is what it is GC." I believe there are a few independent music stores that will do as good as $875 - $900 for a new pair of BM5As, if they have had them in stock for a while. But you have to look hard for those deals on the net. |

| Lives for gear | I picked up a pair of A7's used for $800 on GS and have not looked back. Really nice for mixing.

I auditioned some BM5A's at the local guitar center against some HS80M's and HS50M's. The Dyns had a lot more bass information than either of the Yamahas. It made me go home and re-tweak some bass roll-off in the low end of the mix I was using as a reference. The mid and hi of the dyns didn't sound drastically different from the HS80M's - however my mix sounded better on the 80M's which made me doubt them a little bit. |

What monitors would you guys remmend for dance music mixing, where we especially need to have a lot of control and accuracy on the low end ? Thanks for your suggestions Sergio |

I hope the dyn's have a better sound. You are paying for it... $300-400 more than I spent on my 80's. I think the 80's are too bright out of the box. I have the highs and mids knocked back a notch. Works well for me so far. I hope to graduate to some higher end Dyns or Adams next. |
