Question <- Need HELP with VST-Plugins ->

Hi!!

I was surfing the forum a week back; and I found out that there are some FREE VST-Plugins available out there. I even downloaded some of them; but I can't open them/or I don't know how to use them.

Clearly it reflects my ignorance; so can someone please help me:

1. What are VST-Plugins?

2. Which DAW software supports VST-Plugins. I have a basic Steinberg Software (it does not support). But I hear Sound Forge will do so, is that true?? What are the economical options?

3. Any other recommendations?

Thanks and Cheers! thumbsup

Use the search function, you'll find a LOT of good info,

VST's are supported by programs like Cubase, Nuendo, Sonar, Calkwalk, as well as a myriad of others,

Logic supports Audio Units (apple),

Pro-Tools supports RTAS (real time audio suite)

A LOT of software designers design for multiple platform's, so no one is left out in the cold. Others only support specific formats, so its important to check what your software uses,
