2 EV6535's and an open reel 1/4 track @3.75ips!

My old bandmates at University, in 1979:

2 635's a huge 12 feet apart, but some distance back (vaguely approximating the 1-to-3 spaced omni rule of thumb)

Canadian Music Centre: Archival Recordings

I think The recorder was a Revox A700 if my memory serves correctly.

Akgd112 on kick, 57 on bottom snare, OH's a la Glyn John's...I tried out a few different small condenser's nothing fancy... either KSM 137's, C-2's, or Mxl 603's. Thanks for any constructive criticism!

This sounds great. Digging the drummer's groove. Wish I spoke French so I could understand the lyric.

Cheap Gear

Blasphemous Truth by lbm323 on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

I did this in my garage with no room treatment, on a rubbermaid table, 1 Sm57 for horns, 1 shure beta 57 for vocals, all into my lexicon alpha running guitars D.I. also bass is di. I used guitar rig 4 for guitars and just light compression on bass, Drums are addictive drums.

This was done with a Tascam 2488, Presonus Inspire, Shure PG drum mic set & a Behringer B-1 in a room with zero treatment & with only headphones to track with.

Was a lot of fun putting this together...cookie sheets, mixing bowls, boxes...you name it, I used it! No midi, SM57 and AT4050 into a Mackie interface...

OK, from back a few years

2MERICA: Never Met Tomorrow

Here's one I did about 6 years back. I can't really remember how we did most of this, but I know that besides the Digi002, the guitar, and the drums - no piece of gear was over $200. We tracked the drums in the drummer's garage using 4-5 cheap mics. Guitars were done in my basement, with a SM48 in front of and a Samson C1 behind a small fender princeton leaning backwords underneath my record shelves. Vocals were done in my basement with the mic between two large, full record shelves. I think we used a Digital Reference mic (a re-branded AT2020) and the rest is in the box using free plugins. Bass guitar, keys, kaos, and midi were done direct with no special gadgets or plugins.

Hope you enjoy, give me feedback if u wanna.
