HELP!.......Pro tools issue....HELP!

This started happening when I upgraded to 7.4. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but it might be a clue.

I mix to picture. I do my rides. When I'm done, I nudge back the audio by how many samples is being compensated (the rides go with the audio when I nudge it back). Then I turn compensation off. Before I upgraded this was a working system that never failed. Now, even when the rides stay synced with the audio, my rides are out of wack. I hear inconsistant level rides, and my meter is jumping over my rms limit. I'm still in samples mode and not ticks. I'm not sure what the deal is.

HELP!

Why are you nudging the audio?

Check the preferences, and make sure the "Automation Follows Edit" preference is checked.

I figured it out. Thanks anyway.....I'm mixing with the comp on. Then when I'm done mixing, I turn comp off & "physically" nudge it back by how many samples the comp was delaying the track. That works perfect. What I just figured out was that when I import a plugin chain from another session, my delay comp turns off (thats the way it was saved in the session I imported from). If I then do my rides (with comp off) I'm doing rides on non compensated audio (which is what I was doing wrong). When I went to nudge that back, my rides would be delayed more than what I want. I just fixed it by using the offset feature, but in the future I will do rides with the comp on (which is what I thought I was doing in the first place.) Oh well, I'm going to lunch.

Blue light Cory....where is that preference? I'm sure its checked because my rides are going with the audio, but I would like to know where that pref is. I'm not seeing it.

thanks
