Interface upgrades

I've got PTLE and want to get a new interface instead of my MBox. Or even better I would like to be able to add more Mic inputs so I can record more than 2 items at once.

I was curious if the Presonus Firepod would be able to hook up with the MBox?

I know that Digi is pretty set on their own interfaces, but any ideas on how to get around that?

Low End Theory, so cost is a huge factor.

you can only use digidesign interfaces with PT, so if you want to add more inputs you are going to have to grab an 002 or 003 (or switch to m-audio)

you can get a 002 fairly cheap if you look in the classifieds section

Other than getting an entire new interface from Digi. There's no way I can add any more inputs to it via another box?

If your Mbox has SPDIF you can add two channels that way, but you have to buy a preamp that has SPDIF out. I can't think of any two channels preamps off the top of my head that have the option besides the Joemeek twinQ.
