Want To try A Ribbon Out ?

Musiciansfriend has a ribbon selling for under a 100 bucks .
Nady RSN - 4 $ 79.99
This might be a mic worth getting a mod done to it ! ?

I picked one up awhile back for 60 bucks at GC. Not really sure why I bought it cause I already have a Cascade Fathead. But it did give me the opportunity to A/B them. Do yourself a big favor and spend the extra money on the Fathead, if you really want a usable ribbon mic. Check Bayview Pro Audio-they sometimes sell B-stock Fatheads for $129. By the way, my local GC is now down to $48 on the Nady's. Pretty soon they'll probably just give them away. I know this sounds pretty negative, but I'm just being honest with you.

I would check out a Shinybox or Apex ribbon mic. Those go for around 200 and sound great for the price.

2 Mics with diferent name paltes on them

Nady RSN -4 & Cascade Fat Head shure looks like same mic just with a different name tag on them !?
What gives.
Telefunken pulled the same shit with an APex 460 but with a Telefunken name plate on the model and were retailing the mic like a grand or something it was posted up on the net and everything .

This sort of reminds me of GM cars same motor and chassis but with a different body on the top .
.

+ 1 for the fat head 2.
It might cost a little bit more than you're budget.
But the sound let's a Nady far behind.
From the shootout my impression is that it lay's between a royer and AEA.
