Different shockmount for Baby Bottle

I recently broke my shockmount and I'd like to get a new one but not the one that Blue makes. The one that Blue makes sucks IMO. Is there a universal one out there that will hold a mic that small?

.... if I could count how many blue shockmounts I've broken....

They usually look cool, but I've seriously broken a bunch of them....
The adjustment screw portion is always totally cheesy on them...

That would be what I broke. It would never stay tight so I would always just adjust it by hand. Well this time setting up for some acoustic guitar is broke. I'm in Vancouver.

No way....!? Always great to meet another local gearslutzer...

I hadn't noticed that you were here in Vancouver....
I live in Vancouver also... but most people recognize "Portland" as the larger city...

I think you can find a replacement for the screw... at a hardware store or something... you can probably get one from Blue?? I never tried though... I thought the design of the shockmount was pretty crap from day one to be honest...

Check with War at Front End to be sure, But I bet the Crowley and Tripp shockmount will fit (Just got one to use on my Stedman n90 and Heil mics). It's pretty solid.

War is Waren Dent. They are a standard "binder clip" type suspension mount (probably sourced in china or wherever).

Well..

After Blue didn't reply to my email and War was sort of distant I went and asked somebody in my maintenance department at work if he could fix this thing.

He drilled the screw that was broken off inside and put in a 5mm . 8 allen head bolt. I'm not sure if that's how you write that but that's what he kept saying. Gave me an allen wrench and now I can adjust the thing all I want and tighten it more because I'm using the wrench instead of my fingers.

Make Your own mike clip

I have an MXL 770 quite large dia case . I matched a mic clip to the dia of the out side dia of the mic .Then trimmed down the mic clip warped some foam around the mic and drilled a a hole in the mic clip it self so I could run a tie warp through the hole and I pulled it tight and have me a new mic clip it works !
