HELP - Pro Tools MP 7.4 Bug

I just recorded a good bit of acoustic tracks yesterday, only to find my audio doesn't line up with the visual regions (all in one session). IOW - it plays in time, but the waveform doesn't line up with the sound. The waveform (visual) is exactly 2 beats behind the actual audio. WTF?

The session was a 6.4 LE session, now converted to MP 7.4. These are the first tracks recorded in the MP session.

dj

BTW - I'm on cs2.

Whoa... crazy.... What format are you using? Hopefully not SDII?

Some ideas:

Try consolidating the region... does it come back visually inline?

Try Save Copy In and opening up THAT session and recording some more...

Try going to your old PT and consolidating those regions back to bar 1. Then make a new 7.4 session and manually import the audio into new tracks.

Also try bussing a track that is off to the input of a new audio track and record it (this is called a internal bounce). Is the waveform fixed?

Here's the answer (via Sweetwater Tech Support) . . .

Select regions misdrawn - click on the region drop menu (region list) - select to redraw waveform overviews - done deal.

I'm posting this for future references (searches).

Unhappy waveform doesnt line up with audio

hey folks, I have the same problem after one of my buddies was workin on a previous session on my pro-tools. he must have changed some sort of setting or something. Anyways, now my waveform doesnt line up with my audio, I have to consolidate it every time (highly annoying). just wondering if anyone would know what setting may have been changed or why it is doing this now. For the record it has never done it before (maybe a preference change???)

thanks alot - Paul

It's a known bug - you don't have to consolidate, just redraw overviews, as the previous poster said. Annoying but not a big deal.

Have you updated to the latest CS? I haven't seen this in a while so I kind of assume it was fixed in a CS.

Do you have a tempo map? Tempo map has been causing some weird stuff on my rig, though it is ver 7.3 and I thought the fixed that in ver 7.4.
