| I'm curious about their CV12 and CV 28's as well.. all the reviews rave about them... Like to hear from somebody with some real world experience.

| i had a shootout at NAMM with a gazillon mics and the cv-12 is up there among one of the best its got a very defined high end low end and the presence is ever so clear.... i liked it better than the U-87 and thats saying alot... but beware this mic could spell trouble for any one who has a very sibliant voice..of course that could be taken care of with postioning and deesing...id say this mic is totatlly worth the buy(Chael) - Michael Thomas Candido ![]() |

| I bought a CV 12 last week and just got a 1950's vintage NOS GE blackplate 6072A to drop in it, someone here has done that and said it really smoothed out the top end, might just be a cure for the potential sibilance problems. I haven't had the chance to power it up yet, hopefully I'll have a test pilot over tomorrow to help out. I'll post something when I have something to post! |

| Very cool to get feedback about the CV-12. I've kinda been jonesing about one... I've heard some audio samples and read some reviews, but the real world slutz reports are crucial. Anybody with an Apex 460 or Nady 1050 able to offer any side-by-side insights?

| I have a CV-12- I've been using it on acoustic guitar, mandolin and vocals- male and female. It sounds amazingly good to me- very clear and present. It does seem to accentuate sibilance just a bit on vocals, but I just got an NOS JAN GE 6072A for it so hopefully that will smooth it out just a bit. |

| Joel Patterson has posted a mini-review with clips over in the Remote Possibilities forum of the Avant CK-40 stereo mic. Well worth reading and listening. -0.9
