| attenuated bass response (monitors) I've noticed that some cheaper monitors (m-audio, etc) are reviewed as lacking in bass response. might this be an advantage when monitoring in a small room? |

| I don't think so. Ideally you'll have full-range speakers that get down to at least 50 Hz if not lower, and enough bass traps so your room reproduces what comes out of the speakers with reasonable accuracy. --Ethan
