Naiant X Series Microphones

i think these were just announced:

http://www.naiant.com/studiostore/microphones.html

the old Naiant mics were considered decent for the price (nearly free!), so i'm tempted to get a couple of these. anyone else?

that X-T is nuts. internal tonal switching and capsule options for $55? nuts...

I've got a pair of MSH-2's... they're dang fine little mics... and for $32 they're sick. I'm definately going to pick up a couple of the new mics... Very likely the X-T's.

Wish he'd bring back his mini-tube mic.

I missed out on getting one myself. I thought I would be able to get one at a later date... WRONG!

I did manage to grab his last MSH-5 Orange Crunch. I have not had an application to use it yet, but I look forward to the session that I do.

jeez...that mic looks killer too. it's really too bad he doesn't continue making these mics. they are so cheap, i would buy one of each if they were still being manufactured.

sure...but since each microphone is less directional, the resulted stereo image will not be super-wide. but there is nothing wrong with a subtle stereo image if that is what you want.

Which XT looks better?

Which XT mic looks better to folks, the one with the 'presence peak' around 2k or the one with the flat response?

Depends on what your application is. I reckon the tailored one would be nice for overheads.

Those lapels are very appealing. I might get a couple of each microphone on the site.

i'm going to get a tailored X-T, just because it's a little more unique. i've got a few sets of SDC mics already...i don't really need "just another condenser mic." make it weird, baby.

For those thinking tailored, what applications would you use these on? Just curious, I'm thinking of getting the flat ones but already have a pair of Avenson STO-2 mics that are very flat.

Wouldn't mind getting a bang around pair to leave up during rehearsals, etc. just afraid that that 2k bump might create unwanted sizzle.
