Can You Use 003 Control Surface w/003 Rack

I wanted to know if its possible to use a 003 Rack and a 003 Control Surface together so I can use the rack for the i/o and the cs for the faders.

Well, an 003 "control surface" has I/O too... wouldn't you just use that? Maybe the rack has different Ins and Outs and that's why you want to do that? Certainly LE systems don't allow you to use two different boxes for I/O... that's an HD only thing in the land of digi... maybe the 003 has a stand alone control surface mode, but again, why wouldn't you just use it as interface and control surface since it can do that?

I thought of the idea because since I already have the rack and I wanted some good fader control for protools until I got possibly a c|24. I also didn't want to deal with a commmand 8 due to its age in the market and the possibility of no future protools support. I would still keep the rack for the long term maybe adding BLA mods for the rack.

No you have one and only one audio interface to choose for PTLE/MP. This is why I got a 003 Console. You can add a controller to your rack.
