| Aogee Mini Mes Preamps and Compressor, any good? Im looking for the cheapest way to get good premps, D/a, and a compressor to be used in conjunction with my plug ins. Is the Apogee Mini me really the all in one solution Ive been dreaming of? I know the converters are great. Are the preamps and the compressor worthwhile until I can upgrade for different colors later? Say if Im recording vocals only, am I going to loose any quality with using the Mini Mes preamps and soft limiter? |

| sort of.... It's mac only and doesn't have digital in or selection of digital outs, firewire only. It does have a DAC, is bus powered and according to Apogee has better conversion and preamps than the minime. No softlimit. 24 bit only. 2/3 the price of the now discontinued minime. I'm very happy with mine which replaced a Presonus Firebox. |

I can just buy an old Apogge Rosetta for D/A. Then hook my Mackies HR824s up to that and Ive got my whole setup done. | |
