Aogee Mini Mes Preamps and Compressor, any good?

Im looking for the cheapest way to get good premps, D/a, and a compressor to be used in conjunction with my plug ins.

Is the Apogee Mini me really the all in one solution Ive been dreaming of? I know the converters are great. Are the preamps and the compressor worthwhile until I can upgrade for different colors later?

Say if Im recording vocals only, am I going to loose any quality with using the Mini Mes preamps and soft limiter?

well, you'll be disappointed becase the mini me is an a/d not a d/a. I'm also guessing no one here really knows what you've been dreaming of... but the mini me is good and this being the low end forum, this is prob. the best piece for you.

sort of.... It's mac only and doesn't have digital in or selection of digital outs, firewire only. It does have a DAC, is bus powered and according to Apogee has better conversion and preamps than the minime. No softlimit. 24 bit only. 2/3 the price of the now discontinued minime. I'm very happy with mine which replaced a Presonus Firebox.

Why would I be dissapointed?

I can just buy an old Apogge Rosetta for D/A. Then hook my Mackies HR824s up to that and Ive got my whole setup done.
