I am planning to do a simple project (Acoustic, Vox, a bit of Piano to fill in here and there, backgroundish). I have reasonable expectations... not expecting miracles, but will be satisfied with a good effort. It will be an EP and will finance a later project. I have a tiny bit of gear left over from a previous effort. (lost a lot of gear) So far, I have: 001 with many Waves plugs SM-81 SM-58's (many) SM-57 RSM-4 (2) Joe Meek 3Q (2) What I plan to purchase: Monitors: Tascam VL-X5 or YSM1P Again, this is a 1st step and a simple project. I don't need a lot of punch and the mix will be sparse. Vocal Mic: CAD Trion 8000 Conversion: Alesis IO14 Any thoughts? |

| You can really do AMAZING things with that Trion 8000, no question. It doesn't have a pad... and it doesn't have a roll-off... so you'll need to find a good "working distance" and a proper environment for it... but if you can nail all that down, amazing, as I say. So that part of the plan looks good to me.
