Thread Starter | MXL 603 Mod
i read about a MXL 603 mod over at prodigy-pro that involved replacing caps and what-not: Prodigy Professional :: View topic - Gus' MXL 603s mod - Pictures/Part numbers -thanks Flatpicker it's big thread, but there aren't too many first-person reviews...and no audio examples (that still work, anyway). anyone out there done this? i have some 603s, which sound nice, but i'd be willing to try the mod if the improvement is noticeable. |

I tried some of those mods and the differences are subtle. The polystyrene cap on the capsule was the best improvement to my ears. It helped smooth some of the harshness in the HF region. The larger coupling caps didn't do much if anything for me. I fit 1uf AVX in place of the .22uf.
