Best/Cheapest/Reccomended CD Duplication

I've always (up until now) gone the DIY (read: blank cd-r's and a sharpie) route when it comes to CD duplication, but I'm to soon be releasing an album that's actually high quality enough to get professionally duplicated. I tried searching the forums for threads on this already, but apparently there's a ridiculous "3 word minimum" on the search option.

Anywho, would anybody recommend/warn me of any specific professional CD duplicators that they've worked with? I'm looking to do probably a 3 color CD and a 4 color 8 page (including the front and back cover) booklet (or possibly a mini-poster booklet). Anybody have any suggestions? Anything would be helpful, especially reccomendations including links/prices/contact info/your personal experience.

Thanks bunches in advance.

Sorry to hijack, but concentrated information is better from the scattered one.

What about CD duplicators in Europe ?
Also who does vinyl in Europe ?

The backs of the print editions of the recording mags (classified listings) typically have competitive price listings for CD dupers.

Of course, one often assumes that the trade-off on low price will be either slow turnaround or bad printing or compromises in printing/paper, etc.

Most folks job out various parts of the replication/production, acting as middle men or final packagers, of course. That doesn't mean they'll do a bad -- or even a slow job.

I've heard of folks paying top dollar and getting jerked around, too.

This is one place where word of mouth probably has something to offer but I'd try to collect as many opinions as possible.

I just used DiskFaktory to do my CD

Musician's Friend: CD Duplication with DiskFaktory

They are part of or tied in with MusiciansFriend.

I am very pleased with the results. I went for their ProPack option without shrink wrap. They had the best price for a run of 100 that I found. Their turnaround time was a week ahead of their projection.

Plus if you are on MySpace and have a Snowcap Music store, there is a 10% discount in there. I found that after I placed my order but it will be there for re-orders.

Hi,

I understand you want. I can also face this types of problem. But I use a great CD duplication service provider when I need to make lot of copy of any particular CD and it works very well for me. I hope you will get what you want.
Good luck!

I just checked and it looks like their main site is under construction.

We came across them on their eBay store.

Nice guys, quality discs and service.

They were super fast too.

use Kunaki -- CD/DVD manufacturing and publishing service

better than anything else in the world.

if anyone has anything even remotely better...lets hear it.

oops...just noticed that you want a multipage insert---not an option w/ kunaki--but if you can make do without then i still recommend them.

also they do duplication only...not replication

good luck!

I've used Discmakers for many years and have always had great results.

Friends have used other companies and have not always had great results. Mostly it's bad or inconsistent printing on booklets and tray cards.

Discmakers encodes all of the proper data on the discs. Just don't have them master!

I've used these guys twice. They did a great job both times and were very reasonable.
