Soundcard D/A converter for playback only "VST instruments PC"

Hello, I have a PC dedicated only for playback VST synthesizer and sampler. Now I use the E-MU 1212m modded and seems to be quite good. Note: I use the sound card only for playback at 96Khz without him DSP effects. I'm looking for someting better and more musical, if exist. I say that 1212m is wide used into hi-fi audiophile world. Yes, I can run the digital O into digital I to my daw but I prefer work into analog domain because my chain is the following:

PC VSTi analog.out -> outboard -> A/D converter PC DAW.

Obviously I don't want to spent 2000 euros for hi-end D/A converter because I don't think that the sonic differences have this value.

Any suggestions ?
Thanks

Sonia
