| soundcard help please! Right im in the prossess of sorting my studio out, I make dance music, but I need to know I want to move onto protools but im wondering what peoples views are on the Digidesign Mbox 2 Pro How are they for the money? can you chain multiples of them? I really want to use protools 7.4 but I have not got the cash for a hd system sadly, I usally make my tracks in reason and export each track as wav then move it into cubase to work in audio and use kontakt etc. but the added features in protools im really intreasted in so, for working in audio. im looking at getting a mixer in the new year, so thats why I need alot of out but it wont be for a few months at the moment, so 1 will do for the moment but i need to know if you can. Otherwise ill get a motu ultralite, if you cant chain multple cards with the mbox how does the motu ultralite hold up compard to the motu 828 mk2? is it practily the same sound wise? would prefer the ultralite as I have a laptop as well for making beats on the go. Many thanks to anyone who awnsers and exuse my spelling lol. btw hello to you all, this is my 1st post on here and hopfully not my last lol. |

| AFAIK, the MBox 2 has no Linux drivers. Matrix:Main - AlsaProject The MOTU ones aren't all that great in that department either. Not that that will matter for your uses, but it matters for me picking up second hand gear off of craigslist. For me part of the value of a piece of gear, is whether or not I can sell it for what I paid for it. Or at a reasonable depreciation based on useage and time. AKA, did I get my moneys worth? |
