I like to use the 609 on snare bottom, too.... it really livens it up! I've been using a combo of i5 and 609 on guitar cabs, too, and with great results!

I feel like it would be tough to fit a e609 into where most drummers snare drum is located and get a good placement....im assuming you guys have. Just seems like compared to other options (57 and i5) youd be able to achieve a better placement with those...idk maybe not....i wonder how the e609 is on the bottom of snare? Anyone tried that....im gonna have to try the mk012 this weekend and see how that works on bottom now.

i couldnt believe how good an e609 sounded, not as a bottom snare mic but as the only snare mic. that said maybe it was just a good snare drum and the drummer was very good which are both much more important than which mic you use. its surprising how much i like e609s on things like drums and yet i never liked them on guitars. is there much difference in the 906?

you have to have an SM57 in your arsenal regardless and they are so cheap they should be your first snare mic. so get one and dont look back, just add more mics as you need/want them. i do like Beta57 (original) and Beta57A very much aswell, as to which is mic is best depends entirely on the song, the drum and the drummer.
i dont see how the Beta compromise feedback rejection, particularly when its not even a concern in the studio, and you cant add the tops the bottoms or the additional clarity to an SM. they are a different mic not just an SM with a bit more top.

i always have SM57s and Beta57As (or Beta56 as they are the same) on hand because i always know they will work.

Tiny could you describe the difference between the PR20 and PR30?
