budget?

<$500- definitely Sterling Audio ST-77- you can probably get one for about $400 at GC if you haggle, and it is an AMAZING mic. Can't beat it for <$1k, IMO.

<$300- AT4040. very decent mic.

<$100- MXL V67 decent mic. Maybe the best in price range

The Shure SM7 is a great vocal mic for about $350, but I don't know about acoustic instruments.

Stereo pair of Naiant MSH 1Os to record acoustic guitar - $50

Throw an SM57 on the guitar cab - $60 used.

Shure SM7 for vox - $300 used.

That would be a pretty nice setup for around $400.

SM-7 is a great mic. For quiet stuff, forget it. Big close voices, drums, anything loud and up front.... its great

I love my V-67, for voice and acoustic things. Real cheap and good value.... I dunno how it does drum stuff, so I probably would not put it in front of a kick.
