Best battery powered boombox w/ external in?

What is the best quality battery powered boombox (with external input either outlets or ipod dock)?

I'm looking for flat, unhyped. I suspect alot of these so called hifi ones are actually pretty hyped smiley face eqs. Must take batteries.

harmon kardon makes a nice little ipod dock that has usb, s-video and line in

its sounds great too. better than any other ipod dock out there. yet lacks the db of the hi-fi

but in small enviroments.. WOW

A couple of years back I tried pretty much everyting on the market I could find, for my partner who was a dance teacher.

Our main criterias were volume, and battery powered.

There is a range of JVC cylindrical ones which were best for us, however they are smiley faced. Also the older model we got was better than the newer model we got later on. Note only some have inputs, I think only if they have tape decks, I'm not sure. They also run of car cigarette lighters I think.

On the more recent model we got they had also added sound effect buttons (???) for some unknown reason

A few other dance teachers I know bought the same one after hearing ours.

Those both look pretty nice especially the Harmon Kardon given that I dont need to get too loud and that it's more portable. Thanks for the suggestions.
