| i built traps, have i screwed up anywhere? i just built 12 traps yesterday.i used 2x4 roxul rigid panels 2in thick. using 1x4s i built frames around the panels and them burlap covering. 1. is it ok to compress the panels a bit?, having the frames sqeezing in on them. 2.should there be a gap between the burlap and the panel? 3.can i fix them to the wall or do they need to hang? 4. in corners should the bottom of the panel touch the floor? thanks for any help |

1. I don't think it will hurt them. 2. There doesn't need to be a gap, if you can avoid it they'll probably look better. 3. You can attach them either way, however on flat walls you should install them so you have a space between the wall and the trap, 4" would be good. 4. They are most effective when the full corner is covered, floor to ceiling. If you can't do that then install them where the walls either meet the floor or ceiling, the "tri-corner". Setting them on the floor will do that, your choice. That said I have mine installed just short of the ceiling... ![]() If you doubled up the 2" to bring it to a 4" depth on a few of those you would lower your effective frequency treatment. Do a search, there is a ton of info on acoustic treatment by people who know far more than I do. Good luck! | |

| WKG gave you all the right answers, but did you make them all 4" thick? I am hoping you did. ![]() Glenn |

| Only thing you might want to do would be to take a door knob drill bit and punch a bunch of holes in the 1x4" frames to allow sound in from the sides and reduce the weight a touch. |
