Alesis Multimix Firewire bugginess - are new drivers OK?

Hello to all,

I've noticed from several reviews and posts that although the Multimix Firewire mixers series from Alesis are very good as a mixer they have many problems working as a recording audio interface due to severe bugs on their drivers, causing freezing applications, audio glitches like skipping a little and pops.
I've noticed that Alesis released new driver and firmware versions not long ago (from Alesis website "Windows driver 3.0.56.2; firmware version 2.0 for the MultiMix FireWire mixers, Updated by Alesis 07/2007).
I was wondering if anyone has already updated news on this version and if does anyone know if all those severe problems are now corrected and one can use the model for PC recording without the reported problems.

Cheers

I ave a firewire multimix and i used it with abletonlive, if i ever did get pops i would just reset Live, so i didnt know if it was Live or the mixer itself, other than it has been a great recording device for me!

I used to have a hell of a time with my Multimix Firewire 16. I could record but every once in a while I would get glitches while tracking that would make it hard to follow a click track or the other tracks.

However, the new drivers fixed all that. I have no problems with the mixer anymore and consider it an absolute steal. I was willing to deal with the glitches before as they were more annoying than project-ruining but I'm so glad they're fixed now.

It's a good, reliable mixer in my experience. No problems anymore, knock on wood.
