DIY cart

Some of you guys are pretty crafty....maybe you can help me with a new project.

I play guitar in a band and we're doing some tunes with sequencing for horns, strings, keys etc.

I've built my drummer a small set-up in a 4 space rack that has a drum machine, mixer, IEM transmitter and MP3 player.

I need to buy or build a rolling cart that I can put this rack on as well as our amp rack, my Mackie 1604 mixer and my laptop. It will all be tucked in the corner near him so he can start/stop the sequences.

I figured is I built something 36" tall x 22" wide x 22" deep and mounted the laptop off on of those swing out arms, it would all come together and if I got real crafty, I could make it so the racks (two 4 space or a 4 and a 6) could stay right on the cart with their lids on if need be and be rolled right out to the truck after gigs.

I priced 1" box aluminum and it wasn't cheap... about $100 just for parts.
A friend of mine has a little cart similar to what I'm looking for except his has rack rails in the top. He said he bought it at a music shop and paid about $40 Canadian for it.

Does anyone know where I could buy a cart like this or find the box tubing at a better price?

Thanks

Mike
