Quick question about putting up Auralex

I just moved and built a studio space in my new house...The Auralex in my old place wqas put up with adhesive spray...which was a pain in the ass to paint over. Is there any other method to putting this stuff up besides tacking, stapling or gluing? A less destructive manner?

Yeah. Return it and order Gik traps.

The way I did it was to sew the foam to old sheets with pieces of yarn, then to staple just the corners of the sheets to the walls/ceilings. Was pretty easy, and actually worked pretty well.

i am using recycled auralex in my room. i had to rip it off walls that used hot glue. (that studio revamped the entire room so glue stains were a non issue) in my place i didn't want to glue or permanently mount them so i just held them in place while a friend used a hammer and small tacking nails to pound in the corners. of course, there are small nail holes when you leave, but much easier to fix than glue trails. the foam is forgiving when you punch it with a hammer (plus it's recyc so i don't care too much since it already looks crappy in spots). someone else suggested double sided tape, but i didn't know if i was gonna end up with slime trails like the glue/sprayment.

good luck!

I like peeper's idea the best , but you could attach the foam to a thin piece of wood and hang the wood on the wall.

Just a thought

In my last studio, I cut strips of pegboard (purchased at Home Depot in the US) and attached them to the ends of the Auralex sheets with a bit of Liquid Nail. Then I simply used drywall screws to attach them to the walls and ceiling, as needed.

It looked/worked great and was easy to remove.
