| Gear interested | mixer/interface under $500 So I desperately need an audio interface. I only have about 500 bucks to spend. I was hoping to get something that is firewire and compatible with logic express. I was wondering if a mixer interface combo is even worth it. I was thinking about getting something like this Buy Alesis MultiMix 16 FireWire 16-Channel Analog Mixer at Musician's Friend what do you think? |

| re mulitimix firewire16 Hi, I started a similar thread just before you did (see thread 8 Channel live recording). I only got one response yet from a guy who just bought one, and he hasn't used it enough yet to judge it. It does look like a good solution if you want 8 channels of simultaneus recording. I'll check this thread, maybe a good idee for you to check mine now and then for any new info. Van Speijk |

| I still like my Firepod and they were $399 only because of a name change a month ago. I've just tracked a whole record with it with full band/drums/choir/etc. and the results premixing and premaster sound good. I plan to upgrade to an RME soon, but will keep the Firepod. It will always be useful for tracking drums and is a great buy IMO. |
