Have I got what it takes

Hi guys. I hope you don't mind me popping in! I'm from the high end forum. I'd like to know how I become low end - so much less pressure. I'd be willing to go to a quasi respectable, SAE style school and emerge saying that I have an audio engineering degree if it helps! Please guys what do I need to do?

Best thing I can say is for you is to hook up with a producer or engineer at almost free. It will be a slow learning curve but it will most likely have a better outcome than an audio school.

Ah , so you wanna go low end eh.
A little trick I learned living in the bay area.
learn to smell your farts .butter cup, I think is what they call it.
by farting in your hand and smelling it, one is able to tell if his ass
is capable of pulling off incredible F-art. plus a nice butter cup can
make a nice gift .
its OK to chew with your mouth open and talk at the same time.
if you got crack let it be known. show the world your smart ass()()
you don't always need to pee in a toilet . your mom isn't always right.
I think women are jealous of men . but then again their are some talented
women who can pee like guys , ( kinda makes me a little jealous )
I would tell you some more tricks but I don't think Jules would approve.

Only a couple of ideas spring to mind, i'll come back if i have more.

By Behringer gear.
When EQ'ing tracks, try increasing 250Hz on everything....even if it doesnt need it!
EQ to compensate for "over-compressed" tracks.
Refer to the SM7 as a large diaphram dynamic mic.
Use D-Verb exclusively.

This is easy. All you have to do is swap all of your high end gear with my low end gear. You will instantly have all the qualities of a low end DAW operator.

$70K worth of education to run $5K worth of gear?

Scott, I think folks think you're taking the piss out of them, here (pulling their legs, as it were). So, if you're not, you might want to give us a little more info on your background.

I have never added all my gear costs up but it is way more than 5gs
I think what makes me low end Is I build most of my shit that is high end.

That is wrong on so many levels, I didn't know a caste system was in operation in GS?

I beg thee pardon oh lucky one.

You're quite right - I am taking the piss! Well spotted, I thought irony had lept off the Mayflower and swam east!

Now thats funny!!!!!!!

To become a low-ender. Trying mixing all your tracks in a room no bigger then a 9'by 7'(untreated) and then come on gearslutz and ask why your bass and kicks sound so boomy and muddy in other systems...
