Thread Starter | m-audio project Mix I/O mic pres
I tried using the mic pres on my Project Mix I/O for recording a snare drum for the first time. I could not get the mic pres to not clip, even with the gain knob almost completely turned off! If this is the case, it makes these mic pres almost un-useable, as I had planned on using the mic pres along with a presonus Digimax F/S (which worked very well for the kick and the rest of the kit, I couldn't use the digimax to record the snare because I needed two channels that didn't have phantom power turned on, and I was using condensers on everything plugged into the digimax) Anyone have any ideas, or know of anyone who mods the pres on the Project Mix?

the pres dont need to be modified...one solution is to use Inline Pads. readily available at sweetwater, or your local banjo mart.
