Congrats on your expansion I remember seeing some pics of your studio before in another thread, very nice and tasteful but, you've taken it to another level with this addition of space.. rock on!

10-4 n that!! I have an air conditioner at one corner and the glass door on the other! I'm working on "custom" corner bass traps... Taking longer then I would like it..
Thanks GS brother for the great advice!! You understand acoustic treatment..!!

Don't forget...Corners aren't just where two walls meet. The corner between the wall and the ceiling counts, too! Those corners can usually be covered without interfering with doors and windows.

Here are a couple of photos of my room. There used to be an old shed where this stands which I knocked down and rebuilt from the ground up.

It is a multipurpose room which is used for recording, mixing, video editing and my wife’s practice room (guitar/vocal)

This is a graph of the response at the mix position.

They are own designs using a HI-VI 6.5” cone and Morel 1” dome.

It is only a small room and I wanted to keep the looks clean, and for it not to be too dead.

The angled walls at the front allowed the flush monitors and also double as cupboard space. The side and rear walls that you can see are a thin skin. They hide 15cm of fibreglass which acts as the main absorption. The lower section of the wall comprises of a number of ply panel resonators and the ceiling is a slat resonator. The depth behind it varies from 25cm to 35cm and is again filled with fibreglass. The black “cloud” is just a light weight frame covered in cloth with fibreglass behind it.

The dip in response at 2.5KHz is caused by reflections from the desk. If you move the mic the frequency changes. The red carpet tiles seen on the desk were used to try and reduce the dip but I also have some sheets of foam that are more effective.

Grace Design.....? ISA one......? Daking.....?
If you have a Bae/API lunbox.... You can go grace, true systems, daking 500 series
Remember in the mpa you can change the tubes for a CLEANER sound..

If you get the IK Multimedia ARC System, you'll tighten up that frequency response even more. It will take care some of the stuff that acoustic treatment couldn't. It might not help really steep notches as much, but for other stuff, it's really good. I have acoustic treatment up the wazoo and the ARC System made my monitoring chain even better.

Some very nice home studios in this thread.

Here is my living room "studio" slightly transformed for a party we held last spring. I've made a few gear changes since then...but I'm still set up in the same living room...

After spending a few years having my recording setup squeezed into a small space in a condo, my wife and I bought a house about a year-and-a-half ago, and I was given the green light to have my way with the garage (as budget would allow). Our 2-car garage also must include space for a workbench, a fridge, bicycles, my kids' toys, and a significant amount of storage. From that, I was able to work things into having about half the garage for a studio space. Here's where I am now...

My first finished song completely recorded and mixed in this space...

I love how many Pro VLA's show up in this thread. You're not a Low-Ender if you don't have at least one VLA! Coming in second, FMR RNC/RNLA!

Haha, in this page there seems to have a VLA in every picture!
I have one too, and a RNC and a RNLA, seems like I am guilty too...
