Gotta love this thread. Here's my modest little setup for detroit style house music.

Here's my humble dorm room setup (don't laugh). To your immediate left and right are my "kitchen" and "bedroom", respectively. If you stand very still you can hear the room sobbing "treat meeeeeee!". My primary mic right now is a C414 B-XLS, which turned out to be a suitable jack-of-all-trades mic for my voice, guitar, and banjo. Everybody's gotta start somewhere, right? ...right?

Here's my project studio that I set up in the 4th bedroom of my home. I've got some upgrades planned soon. Stay tuned

Here's some planning for my summer renovations. Bass trap cloth samples.

As promised in the post right above this one, I made a new addition to my project studio this past weekend.

A Ramsa WR-S4424 24 Channel Mixer.

I also picked up BOTH speaker stands at my local Guitar Center today for only $40!

Eventually, I'll buy a patchbay, cables, and a soldering station, and wire everything properly, but since I'm poor, that will come later.

I'll probably spend triple the money on cables, than I spent on the whole damn console.

this is entierly irrelavent, as this was about 4 years ago and i no longer live in that room, or infact own much of the equipment in there, i just like the picture (and my hair)(which even with the b&ws as monitors is probably the most low end thing about it) ...xx alex

Dig the vintage monitors! Cathode Ray Tubes image way better than that LCD crap!

I'm from the school of, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." The CRTs have served their purpose just fine in the last decade even if they aren't as pretty as LCDs. Those Samsung CRTs were expensive as hell when I bought them. Therefore, I'll probably use them till they die.:D

you must not record guitars in that room. electric guitars and basses hate crt's. the hum is unbearable! it was a very happy day when i went to lcd's. also my desk space opened up and was less claustrophobic.

sorry you can't see the rack but the most impressive things are the mics and the ADK built audio computer.

Well, First off... I'd like to welcome myself to this board. I finally decided to register. Which is about due cuz I always look through the forums for this n that. I've gained some usefull knowledge and opinions and decided it's time to try and give back a lil'! This seemed like a good thread for my 1st post!!

This is my home set-up.... recently finished it up. I am newer to engineering btw... about 2 yrs. I got homemade 4" think bass traps n acoustic foam in all rooms... ass well as a "floating" bass trap ceiling in the small tracking room. BTW... thats why there's soo much foam in the tracking room, cuz its small and the flutter was deadly so its now kinda like my dry room! You cant see it but the left wall is all sticky tiles : ) and no foam to give a lil life back. It actually sounds o.k. and is an alternative for claustrophobic vocalist!

You wanna see low end? You can't handle the low end!

Here's my bedroom studio circa 1986. Radio Shack six-channel mixer (the best they had!), Fisher and Realistic cassette decks for bouncing, a Realistic 5-band graphic EQ, Mattel Synsonics drums, a Stradolin 0.5 watt guitar amp (that quite literally went to 13), a couple of Arion pedals (delay and flanger), an original Tube Screamer, Dunlop Crybaby wah and, off to the side, a Roland RS-202 String Machine. I think there's a Casio keyboard from K-mart hidden in there as well. Can you go that low?

if you got any more low end that that you'd have to pull out one of those old tape decks with a single 1/8" mic jack and one of those mini handhelds.

props to ghetto low end(i bet it was killer back in the day)!

so now that you've had this board for a bit, how are you 2 getting along? i love mine so much that i bought a 16 channel to cannibalize so i can get both of my 24's up.

ramsas are diamonds in the rough.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I just got a new chair and felt like sharing. Soon I'll replace the fan with track lighting, put wood flooring throughout the house, and throw down a hip oriental rug. Also a new desk is in the future. I was thinking DIY, but we have an IKEA not too far away...

Do you think that I have enough bass traps?
