Tascam M50 - useable?

I´m looking to get a small mixer to monitor my outboard gear. I´ve seen a couple of these for sale cheap. Does anyone have any experience with these? Are they any good? Would I be better off going with modern budget mixers (Mackie, A&H etc.)?

The tascam m50 is not a small mixer! (well, it's small compared to a full blown 32 channel studio console, yes - not small compared to a lot of other things)

I saw one for sale when I was last in the market for a mixer and was really tempted to get it. The eq sounded nice running recorded tracks out of my laptop through it (but didn't do anything that extreme compared to what I was expecting) but a downside was was it had all RCA ins and outs, plus the dealbreaker for the one I was looking at was it had massive channel crosstalk problems in the mix buss, and a large amount of noise... seemed like it would be a lot of work to tidy it up..

but yeah - if you have about 4 feet x 4 feet of table surface free in your studio for a mixing desk footprint, and you find one in good condition, it would be a nice thing to have.
