SM Pro Audio EP84 users.....

I would greatly appreciate your opinion of the performance of these
units. I am not expecting 8 NEVE's in a box but I am expenting
them to be Useable and low Noise.

I am Guessing they are like the PR8E but with a few more bells and whistles.

Any info regarding them would be highly appreciated.

Reliable?

I have a EP 84 and like it a lot. I does not compare to any of my high end pres, but I do use it quite often. I have achieved some great results recording drums through it.
I have never used the PR8E, so I can't tell you about the diferences.
It's a killer 8 channel pre for the price. I like it better than the Octopre or the Mackie.

EP84 has low cut, and the phase reverse is on the front rather than on the back. The EP84 also has an optional A/D ADAT lightpipe board. I'm really keen for opinions too - I'm thinking of using one as a Digi001 front end.
