Adobe Audition

Adobe Audition 2.0 - I love this program. Does anybody else here use it on a regular basis, and what are your favourite features?

I like the way it detects any interface i connect to it almost instantaneously. The pitch correction tool is easier to use than both melodyne and antares autotune. pretty cool since the whole multitrack program probably costs the same as those plugins only. It runs most vsts and directx plugins too.

I've been using it since the cool edit days. Very powerful program.
I actually use it for alot of mixing itb because i'm most familiar with it.

Currently using Reaper for tracking and then into audition for mixing.

i too use reaper. but always respected cool edit.
particularly for its audio forensic features.
i used to use cool edit in the early days for doing crazy stuff to guitar tracks and morphing them etc. useing the filters n NR feature n other stuff.

Howdy - I'm tracking in Reaper too. How should I save the wavs so I can throw them into Audition in correct time (in other words, every file and overdub being where it should be)?

0p3rm4n ,,,
re how.

1. if a reaper track is all cut up into lots of seperate clips.
lassoo em all...right clik and glue.
then..
2. either copy the glued wav over into the proj dir your useing for audition
for the particular song...OR....point audition at the file in the rpr song dir u set up to capture all the rpr tracks.

another way...is....i believe in rpr prefs...
set up audition as an editor.
then right clik over rpr track and select audition as the editor.
from which u can save in audition.

solo the reaper track.....render it FILE>>>RENDER in rpr.
then import into audition.
this is also usefull if the track has lots of seperate clips.

Adobe Audition 2.0 rules, highly underrated and very powerful. One of my favorite features is the ability to freeze effects so that you don't have to use up valuable processing and RAM resources.

I've also been using Audition since the Cool Edit (Syntrillium) days. Stable, powerful, intuitive (mostly) and works with many vst's. Underated, for sure.

Any of the quiet "old man" pubs which are chav free :p

I live in a small town near Dover, lots of nice lil country pubs around here!

Audition must be on of the most underrated daws, the freeze is invaluable, also runs dx effects aswell as vst.

At the moment, I'm using reaper to track live session so once the wav files are saved, just drag and drop in to Audition.

I run the recoding rig outside the band room, then drag and drop through network to this pc for mixing.

Hey I've been to Dover. I left those white cliffs for Sussex, France on one of the ferries.

Since I do mostly tracking for mixes, and don't need much in the way midi sequencing, I've picked this. But I'm worried about lack of updates. I'm wondering if there ever will be an audition 3 now that adobe's done the sound booth thing.

I do use it as an utility aside Nuendo. Their conversion is way better than
many.

May I ask what the advantage of tracking in Reaper and then mixing in Audition is ? I ask because I expect to buy and use Audition in the near future (I'm using Cubase LE). I've pretty much always read positive things about Audition for audio applications (I'm not interested in midi).

I haven't formatted the upstairs pc in a while and get alot of crashes. Sometimes Audition cuts out on me with a BSOD whilst Reaper doesn't.

It's nothing wrong with Audition, just my rig. It's also given me a chance to test out reaper though :)
