 | Ramsa 8118 Hey guys, I just bought a Ramsa 8118 for $115.00. From what I have read on these, they are pretty good boards for the money. I am just hoping to have something that will be more "colorful" than my weaksauce mackie VLZ1604. The one I bought comes with the aluminum stand and seems to be in good condition. I am excited and will be picking it up this weekend. Is there a meter bridge that can be purchased for it? I could not find anything. What are people's experience with these particular boards. Again, from what I have read they seem to be pretty good little boards with not-too-shabby preamps with tons of headroom and a good EQ section as well. Apparently Panasonic built these pretty well and with more of a concern for quality than a cheaper price tag. Nonetheless, I'd love to hear from some users forsthand. I'll post pics once I get it. | Got a Ramsa WR-S4416 on ebay for $200 last month. I don't know ahything about your particular Ramsa model and I've never owned a VLZ, but I really like the preamps in mine. No, there not phenomenal, but I like them alot and they are a step up from say, the preamps in the Mackie 32.8 IMHO. I'm guessing you'll be surprised by the preamps also.

| The 8118 was my very first mixer! I loved the thing but was tempted in 1998 to sell it and use the money for a mackie vlz. I sold it primarily because of headphone amp noise and I wasn't as handy back then as I am now to fix it. You've got yourself a very easy to use, full-featured mixer for very little money. If you ever want to get rid of it PM me! Not sure about the meter-bridge options but not sure you'll need it. Direct outs into a DAW or bus it into a DAW and you won't be disappointed. I need to go find one on ebay! Ah, the memories. |

| Well, you guys were right! I am very pleasantly surprised with the preamps and EQ on this mixer. It sounds MUCH better IMHO than my Mackie! Two of the channels seem to have some issues though...when a mic is plugged in, you have to have the trim CRANKED to get any usabl sound out of it. Cranked well past what is to be expected! Having the gain so high on these particular channels practically renders them useless. Any ideas on how to change the pots? I'm assuming it is the pot, but it could be anything I suppose. Paul

| I had one. There is no meter bridge option. Very sweet sounding board. Noise level is something you will have to deal with. I love the line inputs for keyboards, etc. I did not realize how good it was until it was gone! I bet it has something to do with high quality panasonic components. Regards, AB |
