Thread Starter | Cool edit pro to protools
I am getting Cool Edit Pro sessions and wav files sent to me to remix. I am using protools LE 7.1 (Win). I was told the drums and guitars are whole files (no punches-I believe they were cut live) so they should line up (I hope) when I import the wavs into PT. But what about the punchs, like guitar solos, vocals and samples etc? Does Cool Edit timestamp the wavs by any chance? I have a feeling this is not going to workout. Anyone have any ideas? The files were recorded in 16bit 44.1k. Is it worth up sampling to 48k for mixing? Should I stay at 16 bit or go 24bit? Thanks slutz.

I'd have the client bounce the tracks. Audition has BWF, I don't remember if CEP did as well. There's a program EDL convert which will convert CEP sessions to PT I believe. Probably not worth the expense. Quote:
