Starting Broadband absorber, bass traps and superchunks today

I have bought all the lumber I require for my little recording room project and will be posting picks as I go along in the next 2 to 3 days but....One more question.

Here in Victoria Canada I have access to Roxul 3 inch Safe and sound or I can go downtown and Pay 4 times as much for Owens Corning 703 3inch. Do I dish out the extra cash for the OC for my 12 x 10 room?

I definately will if it makes a huge differance in the room, pls advise, thx Roly

My other option is ordering in and waiting however long it takes.

I'd just double up on the rockwool and not look back - saves half and should work about as well.

It looks like the OC soaks up low mids a bit better, but moving the traps out another 6 " from the corner will make them wider, deeper and won't take up much floor space.

roger that tiny, maybe I'll just take 1 x 4's that I have, make some wall hung broad band absorbers and do the corners entirely in super chunk?

Sounds like a winner. For the same 6" of doubling up, you can do the chunks of the same height.

As far as the super chunks go, I was just going to cut triangles, stack them in the corners up to the ceiling and then cover them with plastic so as not to suck up all the mids and highs in the small room. Is this the way to go, or do you have a different option?

If I have the energy I can also build tall triangular superchunk frames from floor to ceiling with Plastic on one of the sides for the purpose of being able to rotate the trap with the plastic facing out into the room if it is absorbing to many mids and highs?

As much as I've enjoyed learning on this forum, I'd just love to get this done and pickup my D-35 again.
