| I never use presets with those plugs. The beauty is that there's really not too many adjustments and they just sound great. Just twist and go. |

| Those are both so dependent on the input level and the program material that a preset would be kind of silly. Just listen. |

| No. I haven't made any presets for any of them. Generally speaking though, I tend to use very subtle settings with the tape-head, with the knobs very close to nothing. |

| No presets here. There's no point IMO. I'd like to make presets if I'm taking my mix out of house, though. Ruudman |

To answer the posters question. As said above, it changes everytime and usually easy to tweak. Here is my "2 step method to Massey plugs" -insert plug -twist knob and it sounds good ![]()

| Seriously... Massey plugins have 1 or 2 knobs. 3, max. Don't you think a preset would be kind of pointless? I hate presets, all of them! ![]() |

| I usually make my own presets especially if I am working with the same artist again and again.... I work on an LE system this tends to be useful when making the mixes have consistency. I always approached presets as starting point then fudge with it to get it just right. Maybe I should have approached the thread with a more of a basic technics type mindset.

| The tape head plug in knobs are mislabeled. Knob 1 is "Awesome", Knob 2 is "Awesome. The settings range from "Awesome" to "Awesome". Just load it up and set the Awesome to "Awesome" and you should be good to go.

eI like the knobs on the vt3. The knobs are source variable but one dirction is suck and one direction is awesome. so turn it one way, if you get suck turn it the other way, if you get awesome keep it. if you get suck both ways leave it, and if you get awesome both ways... make up your damn mind!!

| Oh I love the THC so much it hurts. The only time I'm really happy recording direct is if I stick my strat in, set it to the neck pickup, turn the tone down all the way, and turn on THC for pure low end fuzz. It's a thing of beauty.
