Thread Starter | Has anyone tried the new ALESIS Trigger I/O?
Hi! I need to put together a hybrid drum kit, and after checking out the various available options, I decided to use both acoustic drum triggering and pads. I've been checking out the new Alesis TRIGGER I/O but I can“t find any reviews on it that answer some of the questions I have. My main worry is latency. I suppose that if you connect it via USB to a VST intrument you would have some latency, but I'd like to know how it handles direct triggers and pads. It would be connected to an MPC or a sampler. How does the Alesis Trigger I/O compare to Roland's TMC-6? By the way, has anyone used Roland's triggers on practice mesh pads? That would make for a more economic option, as well as more versatile... Thanks! |

| Alesis Trigger Thingy
You know, for the price that thing costs you could probably find a D4 or DM5 used and have a trigger interface PLUS some decent sounds. Just make sure the buttons on any used Alesis box are in good shape, sometimes they get staved in if used too hard. Danny |

| I second this notion for sure. You could monitor from the DM5 or whatever.
