| Lunchbox. Analogue. Won't lose its value the way the A2D will. Both great, though. |

| I've always thought mic pres with built in digital I/O were a little odd.. I mean it's only worth doing if you feel the A/D in said mic pre is better than what your interface offers. Buy an interface with good A/D and D/A and you won't need mic pres with A/D. It makes a little more sense with DSP FX boxes, because you're saving a stage of A/D by running them digital. | The good thing about the A2D is that it has both analogue and digital outputs, but I wonder how much use I would get out of the digital output if I got one. Have to say, though, the converters are supposed to be pretty good. |

| The AD is free, so why not? From Vintage King.. API Lunchbox w/ psu + 2 pres = $1776 API A2D = $1696 |

| I think the A2D is a bargain, but in a way, I kinda think it's pointless paying for the AD converters unless they're better than whatever it is you normally use, you know. (Plus all-analogue gear keeps it's value better, in case you think you might sell it on at some point.) |

| Then again you can always add to the lunchbox other goodies. That will leave you in GAS hell and you will never get any work done. So maybe just an english class? ![]() |

Slumbeats does not have a good converter so it might be a good choice for him. A2D has analogue outs so I look at it like its a 2 channel preamp that has a free converter if you need one. | |

| Somebody know bit resolution of api a2d ? Can i sync it with triton converter ? without pop/click ? Triton`s input has only optical input. So, i think to buy m-audio co2. Is it good for in this case ? |

| Oh, Ok, I just search a little bit... In this case, a2d has to be master clock of digital signal. then triton has to be slave of digital signal. hmnnnnn...ploblem is internal clock quarity & jitter .......hmnn..everybody saying good....no jitter... I also check this http://www.eqmag.com/story.asp?storyCode=15625 They saying this is a 24/192 converter..But i couldnt find manual on there site.. Pop/click noize must sync digital signal between a2d and triton..So, i need quarity converter that use internal or external clock... And, digiout of a2d is spdif of coaxial...my triton s has only 2ch optical input.... i need dd converter. but for my case i use m-audio co2. i read that no diffrence the sound. And 2ch pre has api 312...I read alot of good things, i also check this http://www.proaudioreview.com/pages/s.0087/t.449.html hmnnn..!!!!! And triton s recorder is 24/96. Its no diffrence than other recorder. Ploblem is ad/da...Finally its signal that be 12/44.1. ...So, tritons renge is easy to understand the diffrense...when i tracking beats.. After data transfer from triton to pc for mastering... hmnnnnnnnnnn... Quarity is same between triton & my pc. Ploblem is a way of processing to make grimy brighty bigger sound for encord to 44.1/128kps.. Hmnnn... !! When i got that i wanna say WOW !!!! Thanks SLUTZ !! |
